I am a big guy and this is a BIG mug!

What is the CHRISTIAN BATTLE CREED?

Marka and I have recently added the Battle Creed Campfire Mugs to our C.D. table. They have prompted many second glances and questions about the meaning of the Front Sight poem. So, I thought I would clarify the situation!

I am employed as a Deputy for the Roger Mills County Sheriff's Office in Cheyenne Oklahoma. It is my "real"  job! I attended C.L.E.E.T. , Oklahoma's Law Enforcement training academy ,  in April of 2000. During the nine week academy I began to understand the strength of mind and spirit required to do the job of Law Enforcement.
The State of Oklahoma provided Instructors who understood , from their own experiences, the enviroment each Officer would encounter when he or she left the academy. Those Instructors made very clear a few points that stuck in my mind when my training at C.L.E.E.T. was complete.
For obvious reasons I will not inform the reader of any "secret" of Law Enforcement that could endanger an Officer if the reader should decide to give way to stupidity and begin a life of crime.
However, while obtaining instruction in the firearm block of C.L.E.E.T., I quickly realized I was a poor shot, I could not aim the gun correctly, I could not put the bullet in the correct hole, I could not hit the side of the barn. I became frustrated. I began to use the language of criminals. THEN one day I heard the words of a very wise Instructor. He said "Just Watch The Front Sight!!!!!!!!" (The exclamation points indicate the Instructor said this with force and GREAT volume. He was frustrated. He also began to use the language of criminals.)
For those of you who know nothing of guns, the Front Sight is the sight on the front of the gun.
Somewhere during the C.L.E.E.T. process I thought to myself, Jesus is like the Front Sight of my life. If I can drill it into my head, heart and soul that all I have to do in this life is watch the Front Sight (JESUS) then everything will be the way Jesus planned it to be.
Thus the poem........ Jesus is my Front Sight, sovereign in my life, in slumber or in battle, He guides my warrior stride. Jesus is my Front Sight, for him no man I fear, Jesus is my front sight, It was he who led me here............Became my battle creed.
So I put it on some cups, I like to drink coffee.

I repeat the Battle Creed when my job gets tough. Sometimes it helps me to center my mind in dangerous situations.
If you would like one of the mugs for yourself or someone you know who is serving in Law Enforcement or the Military or any challenging position, send me an e-mail. They are $7.00 each plus $2.00 S&H. Don't let me cheapen the Front Sight Battle Creed by offering it for sale on a mug! If you see it that way , then write it down as a note and pass it along to someone who can use it. Tell them it works for me when I am scarred out of my whits!
Maybe it will work for them.
