I was raised in Western Oklahoma and influenced by it's people and places. I began writing music in 1993 after a friend of mine passed away. Since that time God has used just about every part of my life as an inspiration field of experiences from which I get to pull a song or poem out of every once in a while. He gave me a beautiful wife, Marka. I wrote the song #5, Tears, about Marka working at her fireworks stand south of Cheyenne. When it was closing time she would close the stand and we would cruise around town in her 1977 Volkswagen convertible beetle. I wrote song #7 Shine On after attending a Promise Keepers weekend in Denver. It offers encouragement. "Brothers on a stormy sea, with our last drop of blood we will priase His name and show His love, together we will need to carry on and we will have the strength to shine, Shine on." Song #3, Sleep Walkin', was written about watching the world stumble around after things that amount to nothing. " So hey your sleep walkin', you're skwakin' and a gawkin' like hell is a good place to be." Blind Man, #2 on the project, is about a dream where " I dreamed I was a blind man stranded in a parking lot with busy people all around" At one point the blind man realizes he is a Christian and even though he cannot see the world around him, he can see Jesus is the meaning of life. And if the people all around him are not following Christ they would be better off following the blind man because he is following Jesus. Track #1, Twilight, is a song about Western Oklahoma, its beauty, and how God has humbled me with many beautiful sunsets. The Blind Man project turned out to be a very quiet C.D.. Many people have called it easy listening music. I just joke with them and caution to not listen to it while driving because it could put you to sleep! Most of all, I truly believe the Blind Man project is exactly what God intended it to be. It was written and recorded on His schedule (over seven years) and definitely not my schedule. The studio recording process took over two years. I wanted to get it done and become a big star! My ideas were not in God's plan. The Blind Man project is not my project, it is God's project in my life. And it turns out that Gods plan is better than my plan and I enjoy watching Him work. I hope you enjoy the Blind Man Project!
